Hello Colby Families,

My name is Mrs. Jessica Bohl, and this is my seventh year as the EL teacher for the Middle and High School, and EL Director for the District. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I am originally from the city of Cajamarca, in the country of Peru. I graduated from college at my hometown's University, Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca in 2001, and obtained my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education in 2011. On 2022, I  earned my second master's degree in Educational Leadership, also from the American College of Education. I am married. My husband's name is Steven, and have two sons, Alexander is 28, and Marcus is 19 and is attending his second year at college. I lived most of my life in Peru, and prior to moving to the US, I worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language in Peru for 2 years, as well as other jobs. I have been working with English learners in the US since 2005, and continue to enjoy the journey I get to take with my students. As an English learner myself, I understand the challenges my students face, and I use that knowledge in my classroom. My classroom rules are simple: Respect all, Put your best effort, Be Honest, and No Giving Up. 

I am looking forward to a great school year.

Saludos Familias de Colby,

My nombre es Sra. Jessica Bohl y este es mi septimo año trabajando con el Distrito Escolar de Colby, como maestra de Inglés como Segunda Lengua para la secundaria y preparatoria, y como Directora del mismo programa. Permítanme contarles un poco sobre mí.

Soy de la ciudad de Cajamarca, en el pais de Perú. Me gradué de la Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca en el año  2001, y obtube mi maestria en Curriculum e Instructión de American College of Education en el 2011. En el 2022 obtube mi segunda maestría en Liderazgo Educacional, también de American College of Education. Soy casada. Mi esposo se llama Steven y tengo dos hijos, Alexander tiene 28 años, y Marcus tine 19 y esta cursando el su segundo año en la universidad. He vivido la mayor parte de mi vida en el Perú, y antes de venir a los Estados Unidos trabajé como profesora de Ingles Como Idioma extranjero por 2 años, así como en otros trabajos. Desde que vine a Estados Unidos en el 2005 he trabajado como maestra de Inglés como Segunda Lengua y continuo disfrutando del acompañar a mis alumnos en su travesía a través del aprendizaje de un nuevo idioma.

Como alguien que ha aprendido inglés como segunda lengua, me siento identificada con la experiencia que atraviesan mis alumnos, y sus obstaculos. Así que utilizo estos conocimientos para ayurles aun más en mi clase. Las reglas de mi clase son simples: Respeta a todos,Pon siempre tu mejor esfuerzo, Se honestos, y No te Rindas.
