2010 Exemplary Middle School Jim Hagen - Colby Middle School Principal (Grades 5-8) / Activities Director (District Wide) Principal's Website I am serving in my tenth year as the Principal of Colby Middle School as well as Activities Director. I have been in education for 29 years, all in the School District of Colby. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Middle School Education from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a minor in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Administration from the Marion College in Fond du Lac. I started my career as 7th mathematics teacher for 10 ½ years and then spent ½ year as Dean of Students and Athletic Director. I then became the Associate Principal of Colby Middle/High School for 8 years. In addition to my teaching and admin duties, I had been serving as Varsity Assistant Football coach for the past 22 years and starting in 2017, I became Head Varsity Football coach.
